Active Healthy Kids Day 2004

Move To The Moon 2004Move To The Moon

Congratulations to the more than 250,000 students, from over 900 schools across Canada, who got active and moved to the moon! Not only did students reach the moon, but they almost made it all the way back too! Way to go!

In response to our announcement of Active Healthy Kids Day, the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) declared a challenge to get Canadian children and youth moving. This year’s challenge was Move to the Moon and it was held on Thursday, May 27, 2004. Children and youth were encouraged to engage in a variety of physical activities and calculate their distance traveled. The goal was for Canada’s kids to travel a combined distance of 384,403 km to the moon.
